Background:

Thirty-five years oilfield experience. Held diverse technical and global leadership roles in Production Engineering with an emphasis on brownfield optimization and technical development of Production Engineering staff. Provided expertise on 6 continents. Designated “Principal Technical Expert”, one of top 150 engineers in Shell’s upstream operations (>30,000 staff). Retired June 2010 to form WaringWorld, Inc. Consulted 7 years to small, medium and large oil and gas companies world-wide.

Now Director of the Waring Retirement Laboratory.

Led Producing-the-Limit (PtL) workshops, 10-30 person, multi-disciplinary teams, focused on optimization of the entire production system from reservoir to wells to export facilities
Developed Standard Operating Procedures for ESP surveillance.
Taught gas lift courses using WinGLUE.
Improved gas lift software capabilities (AppSmiths, Inc. WinGLUE software)
Wrote detailed process guideline for optimizing production systems
Led review and improvements of integrated production system models (Petroleum Experts, Ltd. IPM software) for 30+ assets worldwide
